I don’t drink much anyway but lI’ve a G&T. I have 0% alcohol’not gin’, it’s great. However, if I fancy some wine, I will have some. January is horrible enough without forgoing a nice glass of wine if I choose to have one. I am not going to be bullied/shamed into not having one.

Not that I’m counting but I’ve barely drunk anything since 17 October...so little in fact I can count it!
A large bottle of Tiger
4 glasses of Prosecco (2 on Christmas Day and 2 on NYE)

I doubt I’ll drink much if anything before the end of Lockdown.

I’ve often done (pretty much) dry Q1, also into Q2

No, to many specials on bag in the box ciders and Perry's from very small producers who deserve our support during these difficult times. I don't even like cider or Perry but I believe it is my duty to do my bit.

I'm 1,648 days dry, not that I'm counting  I'm a bit gutted actually, I've put some weight on and can't blame the beer  Seriously though, massive health benefits to being booze free - that's why I had to stop, serious illness - so kudos to everyone abstaining for any length of time. Even having a few days off is better than drinking daily :okay:

I've done dry Januarys from way before this was a 'thing' - at least 25 years. It became something of a problem though because once it was over, I thought of myself as a venerable self-denier. So I'd go through to Valentine's day, which happens to mark six weeks since NYE as a human liver can regenerate itself in that time. When we moved to this little town where we live though, another problem emerged; the Colne Beer Festival! It always begins on the last weekend in January but obviously that's not going to be an issue this year. So then I tried the one-month-on, one-month-off approach because after ten days off, I lose all desire for the demon booze and could go on forever. I'd just start again for sociable reasons but it soon became a normal thing for me again. I now always do at least one more month during the close football season, something else that isn't going to be a problem for a long while yet. Last year, I did all January, May/June and late September to 1st November.

From February 2019 I abstained as part of my LEJOG training. I had a bottle of wine on 12th of June, at Kirkwall, to celebrate.
After that, I got back into drinking quite regularly (with due care as I drive for a living!)
Last year, May 28th, that anniversary of the start of LEJOG, I didn't have a drink in memory of the challenge.
I've not have an an alcoholic drink from that day to this.. 👍🏼

Very rare drinker here, an odd beer in the summer, I have partaken of a glass of bacardi and coke almost every evening over Xmas. I got a bottles last xmas, one is still unopened, one had hardly been touched up until this xmas. Had maybe 10 small bottles of beer over the same period.
As a little time moves on, I will slowly revert back to virtual abstinence.

Barnet,
I'm into day 9 of dry Jan. So far so good.
I was the drinking a bit too much during the week, so I have decided to go for it and try to curb the drinking, up the bike riding, or turbo session in the man cave and lose a bit of weight at the same time.

I'm taking part without putting too much effort in as just before we finished for for the holidays a friend got the bad news that his recent bout of ill health was due to the fact he now has liver disease with no chance of improvement. As with anyone sharing news about their health, I'm sure he only told us what he wanted to know and this comes into my mind every time I go to the fridge for a bottle of beer or whatever. He blames the first lockdown but the truth is the damage was done years ago.
