I never forget my Grandad's Parsnip Wine... Like Vodka but you knew it wasn't Vodka. Since it doubled up as paint stripper, you saved money on a tin of Nitromors when it came to redecorating, which you needed to do if you dare attempt to drink a bottle of the stuff....
My 'uncle'/god parent from Ukraine made various veggie, super strength wines,he gave us (me and brother) as children.

Completed it. Whereas it was once an incredibly difficult time to get through, now it's not enough and I welcome the benefits of it more and more. Some of my colleagues at work were really struggling on this and I felt like an AA sponsor pulling them through this difficult time and one reckoned that last Friday was long enough as she'd done 28 days or a full four weeks which was an unusually long time for her.

I did three and a half months lat year (January, mid May/June and October) but may go for a one month on, one month off approach for 2021. It's certainly helped my running enormously, although there's no one to compete against and prove it.

We haven't had any "I don't own a TV" posts for a while. Kerching!!!!!!!!!
I have a TV but I don't have a licence..
And I didn't have any alcohol (except hand sanitizer) in January, or since last May, as it happens.

I have honestly never given any of these special months or days any thought at all.
Whenever I see one of these twaddle Months or Days announced, it makes me want to do the exact opposite!

Done it here, despite a very stressful month when I would have gladly reached for a beer or three.
Think I will keep it up.
Didnt exactly “do dry jan” but I do think these opportunities for people to support one another through this are rather useful. Some may be helped to steer towards a healthier path.
Also helped me realise how alcohol affects my mood negatively. The struggle may come when socialising starts again - most people I know can’t operate socially without drinking. The peer pressure to conform...
Now I need to address Chocolate Biscuitless February.
