my daughter failed her test today. She made one silly mistake.
The next available test is April 2025. How is it fair and reasonable to wait 6 months. That’s costing huge amounts in lessons.

Now ,there's something in the approach to the motorcycling scheme, , you take the CBT ,pass the assesment , then you have 2 yrs before you take the Theory & practical tests.
It's relevant ,as you can ride unsupervised, all valuable road time,it's often said motorcyclist make better drivers, as they are more aware of road conditions.
I'd say encourage her to do it, I took the training then my bike test, very enlightening. I am 62 and been driving for over 40 years.
It needs not cost much the CBT is around £200, you can be on the road for under £2k insurance included.

@Beebo - have you tried a cancellation service? Imo they're scoundrels but will get her into a much earlier test. It just costs more.

We used one for son no. 2 together with the intensive driving course they offered. It meant a much shorter wait.

Yes. She is looking daily and will almost certainly get a cancellation at some point, but it’s crazy.
