By the sound of them the Chinooks that go over our house have diesel engines…It's probably because the RAF and possibly AAC are the only bits of the armed forces that routinely tanker fuel around these days. They occasionally rock up on exercise to top up their helicopters.

He was part of a gang robbing the place, just wanted to keep you away from the kiosk.
DId he rub his hands together, asking questions likeTo be fair Bernard he wasn't very good at it 'cos he escorted you to the kiosk to pay.
It'll be the army after 5pm and at weekends though. Here in the Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire all garages seem to be open and have fuel.
An aside ... "Army called in to drive tankers" .... Yet all the pictures in the press yesterday where of Royal air Force personnel ?
Per Ardua Ad Tanker anyone ??
Or when a war actually starts! It'll be the army after 5pm and at weekends though.
Well fear not friends. Save scrambling the helicopter search. We made it there, made all our planned trips found a quiet filling station and filled up so made it home without fuss. I noticed some queuing on the way over but none on the way back. I did notice prices have gone up tho'. So that just means the car can sit on the drive for a whileWell Sod's Law is operating for us again. Neither Mrs 26 nor I have been on a trip away for 2 years (Covid + other stuff). So we booked a trip for next week some months ago. Paid up and all now. Furthermore we will actually use the car for once. Very unlike me indeed and not a frequent thing for Mrs 26. So now we are facing a trip across the widest bit of Englandshire and "will there be petrol?" is the question. We will get there as already have enough in the tank but will we be able to do what we want when we get there and will we be able to get back? I'm hoping the numpties will have panicked enough and the few lorry drivers will have topped up most petrol stations by the time we need to come back. But if I don't report back in just over a week's time you may fear the worst

Well that is odd as when I was near Craven Arms and two were shut, and the other had a £10 limit. But were getting fuel later.Map of the problems shows the areas clearly
