I bought my latest bike (mtb) last July, only once has it been on a completely dry, mud free trail since then, and it gets used lots, not much point waiting for summer in these northern parts. I am, however, concerned that I could be accused of being a wee bit sad as I actually enjoy cleaning it. Just ride it, once it's covered in shite the first time you'll get over that mental barrier.

Just ordered a chain cleaner, oil and degreaser. So probs go for a run tomorrow, if it is dry Ha ha.
Mmmmmmm nice, wouldn't want to get any smudges on that !

I used to get anxious if I had a new bike, it always took me some time to get used to the idea of it getting filthy. Cyclocross has cured me.

I agree, but I definately get odd looks from my better half if I tell her I'm off for some bonding with my bike in the garage:biggrin:

Barnet,
A clean bike looks good, agreed, but, a dirty bike shows that it gets ridden.

Well, went out on it today, Lovely dry day!! Only took me about 20 mins to clean it when I got back!!

I must admit cleaning bikes has become a bit of a chore. My OLDER bike is used to commute so needs cleaned every day. However, must be done I suppose!!

Cheers,

Col

One of the best bits about riding is lovingly cleaning it afterwards……or am I just sad????
