Once again why is Kinesis bike so important: It is made from special Aluminium alloy 6000 which is 25% stronger
What about 6061 aluminium alloy, is it not strong. No idea, have to ask Dom
What else is important part about Kinesis bike. their frame is fast and classy as bikes twice is price
So why did you buy a Kinesis bike. Because Dom answers queries
What about Giant. It is made in Taiwan and the Chinese owner never answers any query
What about Cannondale. They use 6061 alloy which is 25% weaker than 6000
What about Trek. Maybe I should ask Dom
What about the bloke at Evans. He is not important
What about components. If Dom designs brakes I will buy it

6000 denotes an entire series aluminium/magnesium/silicon alloy, of which 6061 is but one particular sub type - 6061 is itself a 6000 Series material.

In addition, varying types of heat treatment or cold manipulation make further differences to the physical properties of 6061, so any comparison is meaningless as each manufacturer treat and manipulate their materials.differently, and thus affect the 'strength' of the material in its product-ready state. There is no such thing as 'standard' finished 6061 frame material with which one is able to make a comparison.
