I'm dealing with morons. Here we go retards. ready ? picture a line, say the demarcation line between my property and the pavement. Now. Picture a wheelie bin sitting parallel to that line, about 1 inch from that line. It is 1 inch from the pavement. However retards, to push the bin so all of the bin is on the pavement, one would have to push it 2-3 feet (the approx length of the bin). However, as I FORGOT to do that it is quite accurate to say I left it 1 inch from the pavement. I'm seriously considering packing in cycling, I don't think I want to be associated with mentalists. Audi owners club?

I'm seriously considering packing in cycling...
I thought you'd already done that if you use the Audi to collect the Sunday papers from a shop which is just down the road.

Woke up to sound of the bin men this morn. Heard the lorry then heard one of the boneheads shout "if it's not on the pavement, don't take it". I had left my bin 3 inches from the pavement so it was technically on my drive and the miserable buggers didn't empty it. Not to be outdone by a council worker I ran downstairs in my jim jams and wheeled my bin to the next street that hadn't been done. Took the dog out later and wheeled my empty bin back home.

Result! 1-0 to the hard working, accommodating, customer focused private sector worker and in your face to the hairy-arsed, selfish, jobs-worth, bin-emptying, miserable peanut (who also managed to leave a trail of rubbish in the middle of the road)

You must have bloody good hearing if you could hear that.

Ah so you are accepting blame now?? As Adrian said, you come on here asking us cyclists to help you with your non-cycling problems. We offer advice in a friendly a meaningful way and you just issue insults. I'd say the Audi Owners Club is welcome to you. Here. Please don't say we're not willing to go that extra mile (or inch if you prefer) to help you leave us in peace.

A picture of you BFF, with the Audi, holding today's local paper in one hand, sat astride the Trek Madone, with a shotgun in the other, on the block paved drive, next to a pink wheelie bin with 51 painted on it

When I worked on CoYC help line (private contract) I took calls complaining about bin emptying. A lot of people didn't put out their bins early enough.

It was clear that some areas of York made most complaints and they were the less well off parts. Many elderly people complained because their bins were overlooked and in one case I uspet the manager who complained to my boss. I kept passing on the complaint from one old lady and he didn't like it. My boss stuck up for me I am happy to say but when my contract expired I didn't reapply. I was only on minimum wage and it simply wasn't worth the hassle (some real a-holes used to call in those days before they started recording).
