Do any Briztolians fancy a gentle pootle up the B2B on Boxing day?

So far it's me Spaztex and my Darren for sure, I'll ask around my mates tonight to try and up the numbers.

Please bear in mind that this is a pootle and that the only person who'll be going fast will be Spanders because he falls off at anything less than Warp 9.

That confirms it then, the noise I heard last night was not an express train, but Spandex on a bicycle that goes on railway tracks. ;)

See you later - who ever turns up - I will try to arrive at the correct spot between 11.45 and 12. Would the Grid Ref be ST652757 approx...? Or how far past the tunnel is it - would I miss it? Or at the road just beyond that?

Ta - I suppose I just look out for a group of shifty looking men hanging around on the Cyclepath:biggrin::biggrin:, assuming I'm late of course - well i won't be early anyway.

Well, apologies for not meeting up - we got as far as Easton but felt so rough (cold/flu not hangovers!) we just had to turn back. Hope you all had a good ride, the weather was certainly smiling on you, provided you'd wrapped up warm anyway...

It was a lovely ride G, the weather was great although I had misjudged the temp and was a bit under dressed. Sorry you didn't make it. You missed the spectacle of Spandex having to steal cutlery from the pub to lever his tyre off to mend a flat with a borrowed patch kit since not one of us had thunk to bring any tools whatsoever. So on a ride where 75% of the participants were professional bike type people only Summerdays had the foresight to bring a pump.

Shame on you all:headshake:, apart from Summerdays:smile:. Us girls always come prepared.

I wasn't allowed to take photos of the fixing the tyre with the knife and spoon!!! I did feel guilty as I was the only one with an enormous pannier and I hadn't a puncture repair kit in it (in my defence I thought everyone else would have one). I did have hand warmers though (my kids gave me them for Christmas) so we used those at the pub.

I think I slowed them down as I always seemed to be at the back... but it was a very enjoyable 34 miles for me, if very cold too. And I even made it up the Muller Road (big hill if you are me) at the end.

I only took a couple of photos:

The river near the pub we stopped at.

A proper goldfish on the Bristol to Bath cycle path.
