Mrs V won't wash ours as she doesn't drive... says its not her job........ funny washing and fettling her bike seems to my job though..... I now live 2 minutes drive from a car wash though so I reckon my days with a bucket sponge are over... :okay:
I can have it cleaned for FREE at the Dacia dealers .... I've just not had the time to get there!

If you are going to be doing loads of motorway miles then I'd suggest the Diesel engine Fab foodie has. My 1.2 copes on the motorway but it works a little hard to keep up with motorway speeds so a little noisy but probably no noisier than other small cars... But comfort wise can't fault it no fancy adjustable lumbar supports but certainly comfy enough, we have used it for quite long trips holidays etc.... but it mainly potters around town

If I go for one it will be the same as yours, petrol. If it's too noisy then I will avoid motorways or turn the radio up! The model I'm interested in does have a radio. Posh me!

I've got the Ambience model which has remote central locking, bluetooth stereo, leccy windows but no aircon..... Think list price is just shy of 7K now.... Access model with no central locking AT ALL and the only key barrel is on passenger side!!!! (mines same but don't need to use it as remote key) and no radio...... is about 6K I think you have to go to top spec to get aircon at around 8k ish....

And I think any other colour than white (as they are all metallic paint options) up the cost as well hence why mines white.

The other engine types up the cost price but lower the tax and give better mpg.... I just couldn't justify additional cost over savings as I only do about 6000 a year normally....

Its perfectly acceptable on motorways just not a pocket rocket.......

I do think its a cracking car for the money!!!!

I've found several dealers advertising the Sandero Ambience, the one I'm interested in, at under 6000 pounds and that's with metallic paint. Best get my deposit on it now! Thanks again for the info, it's always good to hear from somebody who owns the car.

Really? You need to unlock the passenger side and reach over to the driver's side before you can get in? That sounds like an economy too far. Even my old 2CV (my benchmark for back to basics motoring) had a lock on the driver's door!

I think I'm right.... Mine hasnt got a door look drivers side... Unless they put one on the base model you will need to do that......

On the subject of central locking

Our second car, a Fiat Panda*, has only C/L on the passenger doors, the boot has to be unlocked with the key
That could be a problem, unless you're switched on, when loading the boot, by consciously pocketing the keys

* '2nd car', even though the Octavia is a June '11 first registration, & the Panda is an October '15

Locks on a 2CV, next to useless. Open up the roof, open the window from the inside then open the door. Extra points for then moving the car to a different parking place or turning the car around

Rolling around at this comment. It happened to me in Italy! I came back to the campsite to find that car had been moved about 100m. When I asked how they did it, the reply was 'Signore, it wasn't difficult!' In fact, no need to open the roof. On mine you could unlock either front door by loading the handle to one side while turning. Something inside caught, and pop! the door opened.

I had a Jawa motorbike that you could start and ride with a 4" nail.

They were almost as bad on most of my Landies, all the 90's/110's had drivers door locks that could be opened with a penny!!
Absolutely no need to insert the key, they could almost be opened with a finger-nail!!

That said, there was always immobilisers & http://www.disklokuk.co.uk/

You had locks on your Land Rover?

Luxury.

None on the one we had, although it did have a cheapo ignition key which switched on the electrics before you pushed the starter button.

Ours also had a heater, which you switched on by plugging a trailing wire into a two pin accessory socket on the dashboard.

Been there, done that, with my first Landie; a 2A Light-Weight
Although, that didn't have a heater
