The first series was ok, it at least had the story of boy meets girl running through it, but once the story concluded at the end of the first series that was it.

From then on it seemed to run out of steam and turned into a pile of plop.

G&S features members of the lower classes talking to each other, which is unusual. My servants only speak when spoken to and otherwise maintain a respectful silence, only adressing me as His Lordship. Most enlightening insight into the lives of others but alas their witicisms pass above ( or more likely below) me.

Who are the actors who did the scene where drug taking was supposedly made acceptable? I can't place their faces. Has the bloke been in Eastenders or something like that? That to me was the most naff, wooden 'acting' performance of the program!
drug taking is socially acceptable... where've you been for the last 40 years, granddad? ^_^

I've seen a few of the older ones, not enough to follow the full story (if there was one). I didn't think the Christmas special was that great, JC is just up his own bum now though.

Can I pick two? I really like the show, it has a lot of heart and some of the writing and characters are just lovely, but based on his post G&S career, if Corden were to go skinnydipping in the Serengeti I would not weep if his head were to end up mounted above the fireplace of someone called Buck McGrew.

I hadn't watched any of it until this special. I was at my Dad's and Mrs C wanted to watch it - I got bored rather quickly and just played with my phone. Not particularly amusing at all.

It's not even a class thing as the 'jokes' just weren't funny.

I can honestly say, I have never seen a single episode

It's one of those programs you find you can't stand, because nobody will STFU about it.

That said, I would gladly shoot Corden myself, without the hippo excuse
I have heard of the show, but have never watched even a minute of it. I have also never heard anybody talk about it.

I was thinking over Christmas how many massively popular programmes I never got round to watching even one episode of ... Murder She Wrote, ER, The Bill... etc.

I DO have a TV! :okay:

It's a big talking point here, especially as it's so close to home in more ways than one.

Stella is another program, much of which is filmed locally. They even saved a derelict pub in Bargoed, so they could film in it.

Again, I have never watched it, for much the same reason.

Some shows that have been filmed near me I loved, like High Hopes and Satellite City. Not sure if anyone outside of Wales would get the humor though, so these would not be as popular.

Ah, that makes sense.

I have certainly heard a lot of people talking about Happy Valley, which was filmed round here.

I haven't even heard of those shows!

Once the number of channels shot up from 3 or 4 to scores (or even hundreds), and Netflix and YouTube came along, I found that the audience fragmented and it was common to find that friends never watched what I watched, and vice versa. These days my sister and I report to each other on what we have been watching on Netflix, All 4 and iPlayer.

I can't say I've ever watched it, and have no desire to do so. I find Corden a coarse, objectionable prat with the IQ of a gherkin and the talent of a deceased dachshund. The americans are welcome to him.
