Anyone fancy a Soreen cycle jersey?! http://www.foska.com/soreen-road-cycling-jersey.html
My attempt at making malt loaf. Tasted every bit as vile as it looks. And the ingredients cost me a fortune! View attachment 58498

It only needs cutting once, length ways then add butter and eat![]()
Malt loaf is one of those things for which I've decided that life is too short to make your own when it's cheap and tasty in the shops. My attempt at making malt loaf. Tasted every bit as vile as it looks. And the ingredients cost me a fortune! View attachment 58498

Cant you buy it already sliced ????????![]()
Cutting isn't necessary.
Buy two loaves, butter the top of one and the bottom of the other and you have a sandwich that should last whilst you have a cuppa or two.

You say this and contradict it with your illustrationYou can slice it as thin as you want if you freeze it first. I keep mine in the freezer then just cut a couple of thin slices when I need some, butter and make them into a sandwich then cut into four bite size pieces. Malt loaf keeps for ages in the freezer and the snacks are nice and easy to fish out of a plastic bag in a rear pocket
Does ... not ... compute!I have made 2 so far. I bought pre malted flour rather than adding malt extract . and then doubled the quantities of treacle muscovado sugar and raisins in it that the recipe said.. kneaded proved knocked back proved , knocked back and shaped then baked. almost as good as soreen and the kids loved it
