Cutting a slice of malt loaf... is there a knack?

Horizontally, like I did once when told I could only have two slices.

Butter on it! Yuck!! I know they sell the pre sliced bits with it on but it is still yuck.

Cutting - just go for a slice about an inch thick and it is fine.

Make a small insertion on one of the longer sides inject unsalted butter into cut, place under bread board and press then fold loaf over in half and press again: eat.

Yup, that's how i slice bread... it's never worked with malt loaf though... not for me anyhoo

I reckon you need to lube the knife to stop it sticking. If you lubed it with butter, you could butter the malt loaf while you were cutting it!

Dunk it in liquid nitrogen and go at it with a chisel point demolition hammer.
