As the title says my brand new (less than a month old/less than 60 miles ridden) Planet X pro carbon has a crack in the seat stay, I'm distraught, this thing is my pride and joy...

Has anyone else heard of or experienced this too?

Still well within warranty obviously so i'm hoping Planet X will just send out a replacement frame, what are they like for returns and warranty?

How did this happen?

I would expect if the frame is still under warranty then PX will cover it.
Have you called them to ask?

Yes I'm in contact with them, should be hearing from the warranty team today, sent pictures etc...

I have no idea, felt wobbly when I got off the saddle for a hill, got off the bike and that's what I found...

True, I may even go get a titanium frame!

I think you will find that Ti has a higher failure rate then Carbon. (Ti is very tough to work with *- and if the welds are not done exactly 100% they can and do fail)

And I talk as a Ti owner who loves his Van Nick to bits..

Interesting, you think "titanium" and think you have an indestructible metal to invade France with...

Indeed.
In defence of Carbon...
The failure you have had must be a very rare one. A lot of Carbon bike manufacturers have life time frame guarantees, Specialized for example.

Don't let the naysayers who spout rubbish like steel is real put you off.
Steel is great but so is Carbon. (and Ti for that matter)
