Crack in the rear rim

What do you reckon, less than a year old and not 7,000 miles. There is another as well but the photo isn't as good.

Depends on state of the roads regularly rode.
7000 is certainly not a huge amount of mileage, but it's not piddly either.

Lighter-weight components these days are just that.. lightweight and easier and quicker to wear out.

No your not being unreasonable at all, but ime rims can last from as little as a few thousand miles. Depends I suppose, less than year you might get it sorted under warranty.

Mix of good and bad, I havent hit too many major pot-holes, though have caught a few in the mileage. Peculiar thing both cracks are on the drive side.
