There's a Canadian group called The Arrogant Worms who I'd have liked to have seen when they toured the UK (one of the venues was in Cheshire so not far from home).

Ironically I couldn't as I was in Canada at the time.

Interesting one, I'm glad I saw Ian Dury at one of his last gigs. In fact we discussed this at work a few years ago. I mentioned Francis Albert, one girl mentioned Bob Marley, it went around room with no real surprises, then it go to the woman in the corner of the office, she thought for a minute and said "I'd love to see Cliff Richard!" ....... Silence

Any queen gig in the 80's, probably wembley if I could choose one. Seen queen and Paul Rodgers live twice. Excellent but wouldn't have been a patch on Freddie I bet

An Evening With Dio tour in 2005. I'd done a lot of travelling that day and hadn't the energy to go along. They were doing two sets, Holy Diver start to finish and a general set.
Heaven & Hell at Wacken 2009. I went with my then-girlfriend. She was feeling unwell so I stayed with her in the tent while they were on.

Of course, Ronnie James Dio died a few months later.

Proper AC/DC with the late Bon Scott at the Apollo Theatre Glasgow 1978. The bulk of the tracks for If You Want Blood You've Got It were recorded there. The best live album I've heard, just sounded perfect with just about all the tracks better than the studio versions. Not many live albums that can be said about.

gigs I could have gone to ...

Bad Brains ! 'Hull - Dingwalls' early 80's (liked their reggae stuff, though at the time not their hardcore stuff...)

Theatre of Hate (not sure why I didn't go...) & New Order (sulking because they weren't Joy Division though saw them 2-3 years later) both 'Hull Tower Ballroom' early 80's

Oasis (first tour) - Adelphi - (Hull) was going - walked up , the queue looked a bit long, walked by & went to a pub instead !

Bullet Lavolta (their final tour) Duchess of York - Leeds, the car broke down...

Could do a very long wish list...

Saw them at Knebworth, 9 August 1986.
Absolutely brilliant. The fact that I didn't pay to get in was the icing on the cake

I was also at Knebworth. Fantastic show and if I remember they were supported by Quo, Big Country and Belouis Some.

I was about a third of the way back on the fence that surrounded the spot light towers. We slept in the car after the show and left in the morning.

Was Knebworth the Kind of Magic Tour?
I saw them at the Wembley gig I think on the same tour - just rebroadcast by C4.
I think the supports were the Alarm, INXS and Status Quo

The best and worst concerts threads got me thinking about gigs I wish I'd have gone to but didn't and vaguely remembered this thread. I see I posted the Can in Munich gig here which would always be the one for me but I'd have been too young for it realistically.

One I could have gone to is the Urban Sax event/concert at City Hall London in 1985, I remember wanting to go at the time but I'd not long got married and didn't have much spare money so didn't go. The more time passes the more I regret not going, it would have been a fantastic experience.

Live Aid. I dithered about trying to get some tickets until I'd asked the GF, by which time they'd all gone.

ELO were at Wembley a few Christmases ago, I'd quite like to have seen them. Lynn's voice has held up amazingly well compared to others of his generation.
