Commute Underwater + Ice , Anyone Else

My towpath route to Reading is underwater and impassable, though I did it this morning as I was running out of time to re-route.
The addition of ice around the watery depths added even more fun to the experience.
Anyone else got this problem ?

Its good fun until it all goes wrong and then it leaves you wondering "Why am I such a twit.

Similar, yes. A few miles upstream from you. Thames is creeping across the roads I ride on (and my usual Sustrans route is a total no-go). I mainly commute around dusk, so below freezing. This is not a good combo! Folks always say "cold is OK, as long as it's dry!"; well floods-followed-by-cold-snap is becoming a feature of our winters now ...

I scrounged a lift-share today, no shame whatsoever in my mind!
