Hinos sold very well to quarries, etc, and most tipper lorries in the '80s and '90s around here were Hinos. They were indestructible.
Their tractor units were less successful. Dad liked his as it was so reliable, but they got left behind in the horsepower race and they were thirsty. Apart from rusty cabs, they didn't really give any problems, but it was all very old-school with a six speed box and no splitter and big hefty lump of a naturally aspirated engine. (270HP from memory). The likes of a Volvo F12 was much more advanced.
