Well folks there are only 7 week to go and by this time we should be well on our way to Lochranza Youth Hostel for our first night on Arran! Thanks everyone. I'm drugged up on Paracetamol and Ibuprofen, with morphine solution sat in reserve. It's not too painful if I'm careful, but I'm half expecting the specialist in Carlisle to want to put a pin in it when I see them tomorrow. A (cyclist) doctor friend of mine has warned me I may not be back on the bike until October

Still it means I'll get to watch the Tour ok I suppose.

Oh noooo! Very sorry to hear that, @mcshroom ... hope the pain goes away soon-ish, take it easy.
When you feel better, you'll need to get somebody to set up a stationary bike in front of the TV for you, so you can pedal along to the TdF, a la 'look mum, no hands!'
