i just had to do the same .... the battle commences

Going back many years a colleague of mine used to have a battle with his girlfriend. She used to run the heating at about 25c, until he said 'why the hell am I sat here in t-shirt and shorts sweltering in the middle of winter?'. He lost !

There must be some sort of scientific research as to why women feel the cold more then men.
I was lounging about in a t-shirt and shorts last night, my partner, in full pyjamas, slippers and one of those new huge hoody things.

This is a common problem according to an ergo therapist colleague. She says women have less tolerance to cold and have thinner skin. It's speculated this is so they would notice the cold and keep their children wrapped up in winter.
Men have thicker skin and higher tolerance, again probably to handle colder temperatures and scratches from thorns and claws and teeth when out hunting.

My nest thermostat is set to 18.5c and it’s locked so can’t be adjusted. Currently set to eco, so no heating for now. Was contemplating switching it on but since found out the back door has been left wide open all afternoon. Whilst No3 son is sat in his bedroom. So stuff that !!

I have seen research - or at least news articles about research - about the "thermostat wars" in some offices where the women want the temperature a few degrees than the men
Apparently it is a real thing that women need the temperature a few degrees higher than men to be comfortable when not active

WHich confused me - most offices I have worked in contain about 2 air con outlets ina large office
hence the more people under the outlets get frozen or cooked and the ones miles away from it and near the door freeze all the time

and lets not mention the needs of women "over a certain age"
so where they found this standard office is a mystery

but the temperature difference is a "thing"

Don’t think my heating has been on since April and it won’t go on until mid October at the very earliest looking at the forecast, not due to dip again below double figures. I never have it on at night unless it’s absolutely freezing
