I'm still hoping to come and meet everyone...I've still not worked out where my off point is to avoid the aqueduct, but there's always the train option! (even though the ride along the canal would be great!)
Anyway, I'm really not good with large crowds of people I don't know, so if I come along could some kind soul make themselves known to me, as I know I won't be able to approach a big group of people I don't know

If the forecast holds, there's no reason not to do Saturday _and_ Sunday. I might only be able to do one, but seems there is enough interested people to have a decent gathering both days.
Two sittings sounds good.
I'm up for a wind assisted ride from Glasgow to Linlithgow on Sunday; the forecast looks good. Anyone else??

That's a shame, I now need to figure out the route! How are the Edinburgers (@Telemark @Scoosh) getting there? Wondering if there is scope to meet at the FRB/Craithies and chaingang it from there??
Not sure yet ... I may be going earlier if I need to 'overshoot' the destination and meet up with @ScotiaLass on the Falkirk side of the RV

Yep, should be no problem meeting at the Hulks Rd junction.
Is there really a place called Hulks Road?

Ah yes, of course - if not meeting up then I might need some route assistance to avoid as many main roads as poss, see if I can figure it out tomorrow.

Which day were you thinking of coming along, if both are decent weather? Do come along the Canal to the turn-off point, or otherwise I (or somebody else) could pick you up from the train station instead. Then we can get chatting before you have to brave the massed hordes ;) (just joking, there won't be that many of us, especially if it's spread over 2 days...).

Can send you some sample routes, if you like and none of your assorted chain gang members have their preferred routes. I don't like fast/busy main roads much either, and the Bathgate Alps are lovely, especially if you take the time to look at the views rather than just racing along !

Yes please, if the people from Dunf who have expressed an interest do come I think main roads are best avoided - and the last time we did a RTF ride we ended up taking some strange routes! Mucho grassy-erse.

need to wait for a few more days then before deciding, if that's OK with you? I can do either day, too, not sure if I manage to go twice, though, as there are other things that need doing during the weekend. Sadly I can't just swan about on the bike all the time
T
That's okay with me, I doubt I'd cope with two rides that length so probably wouldn't do both days.
Saying that, I will have the new, lighter bike, complete with 'go faster' colours...

The southern loop of this one from Winchburgh is on quiet wee roads, and the approach from SQF towards Winchburgh is quite nice, too - but there is a bit where I am not sure the road is open just now (NW of Kirkliston)

Here is one I made specially for you :thanks: slightly lumpy in places (especially the climb back out of Linlithgow)
