The weather forecast remains nigh-identical for Sat and Sun.
Only if you are travelling from the west... Coming from the east, Sunday looks like there might even be sunny spells , whereas Saturday looks a bit more dreich ... still not too bad either, though.

Well, after yesterday's hailstorms, today torrential rain and snow flurries.
Was out yesterday (post 13931), walked my errands today  about 5 miles of them  volunteering to chaperon a school baton relay ride tomorrow, that'll be a laugh if the weather is like today's, as it would be about 30 miles all in :rain:

Not much point on an RV ride on Saturday if there's no-one to RV with, I'll wait and see if anyone plans to go Saturday, what the forecast is and what the ones on FB want to do.

There was quite a few wanting to meet on Saturday, maybe the rain is putting them off at the moment.
Forecast for the weekend seems ok, usual drizzle I guess ... then again, should we trust the met office?

Well, I had planned around going on Saturday too but yeah, seems to be drifting towards Sunday for most people... might just go for a wee ride on the Saturday to test the new tyres/mudguards I fitted tonight anyway.

Whatever happens, hopefully catch up with all/some of you soon! ^_^

Sunday is looking better, both in terms of weather and popularity. Unfortunately I can only manage Saturday but never mind if not this time I hope to meet you all next time.

Going to pull out of this one, and join you all again, in around April/May time. A few reasons, but mainly I haven't been on my road bike in over a year, due to work commitments, so need to get back up to speed and also confidence back again,. The weather is not great just now either.

Have a good one all of you and stay safe

xx

We will start at 9 at the gates of Alexandra Park in Dennistoun ...

OK, got my MTB fettled for Sunday (as I'm working for the next 2 days) and rarin' to go! Which side of the park are the gates? I've been looking on googlemaps and it's not clear. Alexandra Parade side, round the corner from the train station?

The gates are facing Alexandra Parade, just next to the train station.

If you're riding out from Central St I suggest you head up to George Square and then out George St -> Duke St -> Cumbernauld Rd.

I will have to drive up to the city, as the first train on a Sunday from here doesn't get to Glasgow until 10:00.
I will park somewhere around Dales, head along Baird St. then cut down onto Alexandra Parade.

Edit.... Probably be better parking at George Square (free on Sunday??) then I'm handy for the return journey by train if I wimp out of cycling back!

PS.... Anyone planning to visit the award winning Four Marys while we're in the area?
