Think this could end up being one of the biggest CC Ecosse rides ever :hyper:

Looking yesterday it's about 27 miles Dunfermline to Perth, 45 Mile ride then another 27 = 99 miles! I'm sure we could squeeze another wee mile in somewhere. My concern would be time as CC Ecosse rides are notourious for taking a long time. That and the wife will probably kill me if I suggest another day away cycling at the moment. And if the weather was crap I'd prefer taking the car. So all in all I'm not sure, as I said it was just a thought so would like to keep my options open at present.

Oh and I was thinking this morning if there are a lot that turn up on the day it may be better going off in groups, for several reasons.

We can always see what the weather is like that day and take it from there, I'm sure if we feel like we really cant manage it home again we could always get the train or something, i think ill take the night off work regardless cause i was late back both perth rides last year and i hate having the stress of getting back in time for work

How many groups were you thinking? Stick together later or just stay in groups? I must admit i like the thought of us all being in a huge social group

Honestly! No need to squeeze anymore miles in......going by your calculations and iirc i was approx 40 miles to the start of the last East Ride!:surrender:

I'd suggest that, when we get to the public roads, we should be in groups of no more then 12 - 15 riders; this gives opportunity for any vehicles to overtake safely  , while allowing the social aspects of the ride to be maintained. We can join/link up when we 'group up' at our usual frequent intervals, which also gives opportunity for the groups to switch around a bit. In any case, the roads are usually nice and quiet and we'll be reasonably spaced out** pretty quickly anyway ... ^_^ and there is only one way to go for much of the route !

**in a non-drug-fuelled^^ way, of course ! ^_^

^^except caffeine - of course !

Interesting link, Dave - but I don't think we could be classified as 'club' :bicycle: riders !

That was kind of my thoughts, though @Col5632 is correct that the group normally spreads out anyway. As well as traffic considerations it was also so the slower riders didn't feel that they were holding up the racing snakes - plus the pressure of a large group of cyclists turning up at once will have on the cake facilities...

It's every man/women for themselves when it comes to cake, if you are last there you get none

Only joking of course
