There's Cafe De Fleurs in Dollar that the DCC use on the bun run, they do a mean scone and selection of cakes and coffee - actually in Perthshire so might be an option? The other cafe is Loganlea, and is somewhat "rustic".

Cafe de Fleurs seems to have LOTS of cycling customers - can't find a website, but the photos & comments here make me want to go there as soon as possible... :hungry:

They don't have a website but are on faceache and twatter - today they are serving a Choccy Toffee Pop Bar! Just didn't know if folks felt Dollar is too far away and perhaps a Stirling-based RV would be better?

Here is the Bun Run route to Dollar, can you tell where the cafe is...?!? We don't have to do this route, just gives you an idea of location.

If folks were keen we could have a couple of meeting points, one for those coming from the south and one from the west - anyone else just meet us at the cafe!

The wee place near forestmill was pretty decent too

It's okaaaaaaaay, and definitely cheaper (£3:10 at Loganlea plays £4:60 at CDF for a scone and coffee/latte), just a bit old fashioned and not too much choice - maybe I'm just a snob when it comes to cafe stops....

Snob

If CDF is as good as you and others say it is then maybe we should go there

This one might not be best for a depths-of-winter RV but I have been recommended the Deli Ecosse Cafe in Callendar, which would make a nice approx 70-miler to-from Dunfermline/Edinburgh, roughly the same to-from Weedgieland?!? And a quick hop from Stirling/Alloa or the option for @tug benson to do a loop via Inverness, Fort William and Oban before joining us for lunch! Just a thought. Incidentally where has @Telemark disappeared to??

Dollar is doable for me. Longniddry is not...
not in the depth of winter anyway ;)

As long as the food & drink is good and the place is clean, I quite like a bit of variety with new routes and cafes... we could always do one RV ride to each of these and see how we get on? I am sure @Fubar could be persuaded to suffer an old-fashioned scone just once more

:girl:Nice to be missed ... just been away for one night with work - there are LOTS of bikes in Cambridge :hyper:... the work Brommie was great, did 5 wee rides (home - Waverley, Cambridge train station - hotel, hotel - meeting, meeting - train, Waverley -home) - haven't added up the mileage yet, but Brommie miles count double .
We stopped off for lunch at Deli Ecosse a couple of years ago (weekend cycle from Perth to the Clyde, see @HJ's blog for the write-up), agree it would make a good stop on RV or social rides ...

like the name of the cafe  ... definitely one for a social ride next year!

It all depends on where you decide to start from  ... you don't HAVE to go all the way from home on the bike, come :rain: or :sun:, I'm thinking Inverkeithing or Dunfermline would provide diesel/electrified assistance from the south-east, either one way or both ...:biggrin:
