Excellent - we're go for the 9th, then.

Whats the plan for the 9th or is this still to be decided?

 Wake up, @Fubar !
The plan is to have soup and cake at my place, but to keep the cycling part flexible until nearer the time. So we either go on a wee social ride from central Edinburgh before feeding time, or run it as a RV ride, where people turn up at the RV destination by bike, riding at their own pace from wherever they want to start (trains etc. permitted ). At this time of year, I think advertising a fully fledged social ride with no Plan B isn't entirely sensible :rain::cold:.

@Col5632 see above - don't make @Telemark angry, you wouldn't like her when she's angry...

Bump!

Will we fit in a(nother) RV ride this month? :hyper: Withdrawal symptoms starting already

T

I would love another one, maybe not as many hills next time

We could just set a date and meet, say, at the Park Bistro next to the Canal at Linlithgow for a late lunch :hungry:?
Not too many hills from most directions and reasonably central for most CC Ecossers (apologies to the likes of @snorri for whom it would be an epic day ride). Any waiting around can be done in a nice warm place (or at your leisure in case of visitations from the p******e fairy :cold:) ...

Other good RV places that I know of are the Craigie Farm cafe (which is perhaps a bit close to Edinburgh - not that I'd have a problem with that ), and there was a mention of a place at Culross in another thread, can't remember the details ...

I've heard there is a good farm shop/cafe out longniddry way, which wouldn't be too far from Edin and Fife and a wee east Lothian venture for the westies - I'll try to find out what it's called tomorrow.

Park Bistro is getting/has got a bit £££ last time I was there a few months ago ...

Just saying ...

Just looked at the current menu ... they do seem to keep putting up the prices! The curse of popular places, they can charge whatever they feel like :cycle:.

There are quite a few nice places in East Lothian, including the Love Coffee Love Food Cafe in Gifford (a cyclists' favourite), the wee cafe by Longniddry station (forgotten its name), and others ... I was refraining from mentioning East Lothian, and trying to find somewhere equally easy to get to for Easties and Westies (and Fifers/Alloa folk who are a law onto themselves ) ...

What about that place up Culross way?
