I've only really worked in an office once, as a temp working at the British Council down in that London. Remarkable organisation, they have a very high proportion of disabled staff. Anyway, I was put into a small filing office and set to work putting invoices into a binding machine and gluing spines on with fabric and hot glue. Extremely tedious but relatively well paid. The only other guy in the office had his own desk but had a very bad speech impediment. I swear on my life, when I first saw this character on Family Guy, he was the absolute spitting image -
I'm not being cruel or mocking him, that's a pretty accurate representation. When he spoke I would smile and nod and occasionally make him a cup of tea which he seemed to like.
However, after a couple of weeks I was surprised when the Temp Agency said I wasn't to go back. It turned out that the guy in the office was my supervisor and I hadn't followed a single one of his instructions the entire time I was there.
Offices are strange places.
