The VAZ 2103 Lada… I had one of these in college ( it was even this colour ) I dated the girl who became my wife in it. I entered it in a rally and came in fifth. It was modified, crashed, beat on and thrashed and it always came back for more. It finished off doing 120km round trip to one of my first jobs. I loved it then and bet it would be a blast to have now.

and yes, it was a true turd.

I always fancied a Bond Bug.

Complete and utter rubbish in every regard other than those quicky and cool looks, but I'd have one.

It was a shortened Reliant chassis and Reliant engine. Quite easy to turn over. A friend had one in which he slid at speed, upside-down, along the A5. The headlights were worn almost flush with the body.

Random Lada useless information alert* - the official Lada importer for New Zealand was ... The New Zealand Dairy Board.
This was due to the trade deficit of the former Soviet Union resulting in a deal where future supplies of some foodstuffs were swapped for Soviet products.

One of the more proletarian vehicles that I lusted for was a Brubaker Box. They were basically a small van built on a VW Beetle chassis. It was available as a kit or a finished vehicle. Only a couple dozen were made, unfortunately.
