Like I already said - I have two bikes with carbon posts and one bike with an ally post. I fail to see how buying another carbon post will change anything...

So there's no noticeable difference in alloy and carbon posts? Just weight and price if that's correct I might just buy a alloy one

I was just looking for a seatpost without the awful two bolt seat clamp system. While looking for a cheap one bolt clamp type I noticed a carbon cheapo one bolt model. I thought why not try it and find out. I wasn't expecting anything, it is after all a bicycle seat, not a recliner. I put it on an aluminum frame but it does have Carbon stays. It is smoother riding than that junk FSA alloy two bolt thing it replaced. I was pleasantly surprised.

I assume you have no plans for a seat post rack

Something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/2513...ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=83&ff19=0

No seat rack thanks lol

Yeah something like that but the clamp looks different to mine :/ mine has one bolt in the bottom

This one is similar to the one I got from Nashbar. It also has very high buyer reviews like the one I bought. It also is available in both diameters. It is not a weight weenie racer seat post.

You may also want to do a search for seat post setback, this one may not be the same as your current seat post. I put one with some setback on it, replacing one without. It did change things and required some saddle adjustments, it worked out well but I was a little apprehensive at first. Now I like it more.

A question, the spec for the OPs bike suggests 350mm length, that one is only 300mm...presume that is an issue if he needs a lot of post showing for fit? Or have I got that the wrong way round  I was never much good at mathematical logic!

Never tried a carbon post but always assumed they were more for the weight saving than comfort, looking at some of them though they aren't all that light are they?

Not sure how far out he keeps his post, he will need to research what he can use safely.
potsy, the one I have is very thick and not very light. A lot of people use the one like I have on mountain bikes. Reviews were from people on all types of bikes.
