Perhaps you buy another one and try it again.
Like I already said - I have two bikes with carbon posts and one bike with an ally post. I fail to see how buying another carbon post will change anything...

So there's no noticeable difference in alloy and carbon posts? Just weight and price if that's correct I might just buy a alloy one
Budget.....
I assume you have no plans for a seat post rack
Something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/2513...ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=83&ff19=0
A question, the spec for the OPs bike suggests 350mm length, that one is only 300mm...presume that is an issue if he needs a lot of post showing for fit? Or have I got that the wrong way round I was never much good at mathematical logic! This one is similar to the one I got from Nashbar. It also has very high buyer reviews like the one I bought. It also is available in both diameters. It is not a weight weenie racer seat post.

Not sure how far out he keeps his post, he will need to research what he can use safely.A question, the spec for the OPs bike suggests 350mm length, that one is only 300mm...presume that is an issue if he needs a lot of post showing for fit?
