I don't ride crits, my brain starts to melt after 10 minutes... Some RRs round here have fairly/very tight downhill turns and I've yet to experience a problem with the taped tubs (Velox tape).

Which situations would you not use taped tubs? I ask because I only use taped wheels, for everything (wet/dry/TTs/RRs).

Cyclocross is a big no no for taping only. Due to the low pressures run, you want as strong a glue job as possible. Combination of glue and tape in an arcane procedure that takes about a week in total. I will post full instructions if you're interested

Not so much skillful as time consuming. Although the final fitment, with the wet glue on both surfaces and on the tape is a bit of stressful moment
