Do you want all carbon? Or are you considering alu rim with carbon fairing like the Cosmic Carbone and PX clinchers?

If you want full carbon at a reasonable price then these are worth a look:

Otherwise Carbon fairing go for Carbone SL's or maybe Shimano RS80's....

Personally I'd go for the Alu rimmed wheels as the braking performance is more predictable, especially in our changeable weather, and you can swap wheels without changing pads. For the weight listed on those ebay wheels, they are almost exactly the same as Carbone SL's. Not sure I'd trust ebay wheels too much.

Weight wise as long as they are not much heavier than my current standard ones that's ok but I do want good breaking performance for when I go downhill

Well best stay away from cheap carbon wheels unless you don't like being alive... They might stop ok in the dry, but a little bit of water and WHOOPS no stopping power.

Full carbon: light, braking performance is interesting especially in the wet
Alu with carbon fairing: relatively heavy, good braking
Carbon with alu braking surface: light, good braking, but brake track can detach from rim causing 'issues'.

Quite a few guys I know rate the farsports stuff - have a read of the WW thread.

Mavic's new 40mm deep full carbon's are supposed to have the same braking performance as Alu rims, but that tech comes at a price €2000.

Cheap
Light
Braking performance

Pick two of the above, you won't get all three.

I know that breaking in the wet is pants on most carbon wheels, weight is relative, so are Alu with carbon a lot more heavy than bog standard wheels? As long as they are more or less the same weight I dont mind, I m not obsessed on weight of stuff. Not until I start coming second on a few races anyway ;)

Alu + Carbon fairing come in between 1600-1900g pair at 50mm.

But as I mentioned in another thread about wheels what you don't gain in lightness you gain and then some in aero compared to lighter shallow section clinchers.

But if you are a WW it's interesting that farsports 50mm clinchers are sub 1300g pair IIRC.

^ Yea this. Carbones look great, too, and the brakes work. And the support from Mavic is good too.
