Not gone out of my way to listen but it's been mercifully quiet round these parts; only became aware of one barrage.

As a side note, best firework display I ever saw was flying in from Cyprus on bonfire night., as soon as you got over the English coastline, an endless display to look down on until we hit Gatwick

I don't particually mind loud fireworks, on the night or even the week or so running up to it. But then, as kids in the 70s, as soon as they went on sale, we'd be buying them at the first opportunity, letting them off pell mell, it never even occurred to us they might be annoying to people, perhaps they weren't back then, perhaps we've all become too sensitive.
I've never had a dog yet that was affected by them, our current Lab did jump up, look around, look a bit baffled but I assume he reads our state, relaxed, then settled down, nothing to worry about.
What I hate is lazy people who leave the multi launch boxes in public areas, leaving the place looking like a tip .If you argued its for safety reasons, I'd buy it,but personally, I'd go pick them up the next day. Too much to ask of course.

Dog fox last night, totally unconcerned about the loud bangs!

Not too bad here last night.
Happily our dog and 2 cats don’t seem bothered.
Very sad news earlier this week though concerning a 33 year old man who’s dog was apparently spooked by a firework and bolted into the sea.
The man tried to rescue his dog but sadly both perished.
Man’s body was recovered and RNLI have left a wreath in his memory, no trace of the dog.
Just not worth it IMO.
😞

I just saw on the news that rampaging gangs of teenagers were attacking motorists with fireworks. One lad died in Halifax last night after falling through a greenhouse.

It's like the blitz and the pre bombardment before the Battle of the Somme around here! 🧐 My mutt couldn't walk from my car to my flat, due to being frozen with fear! What's it like around your way tonight?

Watching strictly, poodle snoozing in front of the fire, just the odd noise in the background.

Noticed a post a page back from 2013 from Sandra in Carlisle, not heard the fire show there either, £75k of taxpayers money......

All quiet here so far Accy, and hopefully it stays that way. I've got 2 very nervous wee boys that hate noise.
