They have a big fireshow in carlisle but we won't be going. We've enjoyed it a few times but last year was dreadful and youngest isn't keen on dark, crowds or loud noises.

Have some small fireworks to let off at home, then we are all going to the local football club for a b.i.g. fire.

At home comforting my nervy firework scared mutt.

I was in Barcelona in the summer, they had several fiestas's going on, at the end of one there was massive firework display. A little terrier type thing burst into the display, the area was cordoned off, nobody could go in and get it as the fireworks were exploding out of the ground at random. People were screaming as the dog raced around and kept trying to "eat" the fireworks, but just missing out, it was having the time of it's life, everybody was just waiting for it to "catch" one and get sent to several corners of Spain. That dog provided the best entertainment I saw in any fiesta. ^_^

Our huge local display has been called off after decades of popularity. In recent times, it had dragged in every drunken young person for miles around and descended into public thuggery. The organisers finally bowed to the inevitable.
Not helped by the local council either, who last year sent parking enforcement down there, but only after it had started.
Red Tape has finally killed it off!

Going out for a curry with friends tonight so won't be going to the local display as usual, but as it's just over the back of us we can watch it out of the back bedroom window as we're getting ready.
