I had a headwind the whole way in, so hopefully should have a nice big breeze pushing me all the way home

You do realise that the breeze will have changed direction by the time you leave. ;)

Rode in today with a headwind most of the way but not all of it. 15 miles in an hour and 7 so about 10-15 minutes longer than nomral.

It was oddly the most fun I've had for ages, probably because I've been off the bike for a few weeks and just glad to be back on again. Really really looking forward to ride home.

If they're anything like the socks i wouldn't bother. Mine miraculously let water in and keep it there, while managing to keep the outside dry ! Brilliant.

eek, the reviews have been good for them though, hopefully its just their socks that have issues

10miles -same route both way in cambridge

outbound : 60mins
inbound : 35mins

Normal: 45mins

The wind in NCN 11 is crazy, and I noticed the number of cyclist reduced dramatically is the pass few day in the outbound journey (in fact, it was only me today)

Ow, legs sore after 5 miles DOWNHILL into the wind. Part of it I normally freewheel down at 30+ saw 24 with max effort.

Gusts from side roads or tall buildings were very scary indeed.

I am almost hoping it keeps up until I finish work so I can get the reverse effect...but what are the chances of that? lol

I usually freewheel down a hill from my commute, and I was blown to idle while free wheeling down that hill yesterday. Crazy

I think you'll find your feet are sweating, my Madison windproof gloves & winter shoes are like this even when it's a bone dry day.

I've not found things that bad today, the 18th was close to that kinda thing though.

It took a lot longer than normal for me this morning, straight into the 25 mph wind (gusting to 45 mph apparently). Riding home was generally pretty quick though and being dry meant the roads were easier to see as they don't absorb as much light from the bike light.

The run into work this morning was fine, wind not too strong, and rain not too heavy. The ride home a completely different story, lashing rain and into a head wind. I knew I was going to get soaked through so just dropped a gear or two and kept a steady pace, it took me about 10 mins longer to get home, but perversely, I really enjoyed the ride home.
