Gusting up to 56mph in our area. I flew in this morning (almost literaly!), I was nearly sent off the bike by a piece of fallen tree.

Going home, if all stays as it is, will be a different matter.

I chickened out this morning ;)

My arms still not very strong so didn't want to risk getting caught out by a sudden sideways gust.

Better safe than sorry.

Shame as I would have had a strong tailwind nearly all the way to work.

Got off lightly on the way in...moderate winds and no rain.

It'll be a different story on the way home...the forecast is for high winds and heavy rain. ;)

Blowing a gail on my way in this morning (Birmingham), luckily it was mostly behind me ;)

Guy cycles in from the opposite direction and the wind added 20 minutes to his 35 minute commute! I'm hoping the wind dies down for my trip home.

It was far too blowy on the way to the station. Was cycling cross-wind most of the way which was a bit hairy at points especially as i was dumb enough to partake in a bit of silly commuter racing downhill.

On the train now and when it gets in at liverpool st soon, i've got a few miles cycling into the wind...

Remarkably it was not too bad this morning up here. However, my morning commute is very short. The forecast is for worsening weather with increasing winds and heavy rain. I think I will get home tonight impersonating a drowned rat.;)

Two miles into the wind was bad enough this morning. And of course all of the drivers compensated for the cross wind when they passed me didn't they? Did they hell.

13 very hard won miles this morning, never appreciated how open and exposed some of the lanes around Soihull are.
It was that omni-directional wind this morning too.

Can i put double in cyclogs for that ?

Ow, legs sore after 5 miles DOWNHILL into the wind. Part of it I normally freewheel down at 30+ saw 24 with max effort.

Gusts from side roads or tall buildings were very scary indeed.

I am almost hoping it keeps up until I finish work so I can get the reverse effect...but what are the chances of that? lol

got blown to a standstill several times - didn't realise how hard the wind makes it. Hope it's the same direction when I go home.
