since riding with pedal clips, which makes you feel like your riding in high heels, your up on your toes all the time (my calf muscles will get used to it no matter how much it hurtsand my bum keeps falling off the back of the seat - hence all this re-evaluating my riding position after 14years of no problems.
by the sounds of it - you have either been pedalling incorrectly for 14 years, or you have your new cleats set up incorrectly. The pedal axle should be under the ball of your foot, or just behind it. If you are pedalling on tip toes, then you've got them set up wrongly.
Re your bar position - as I indicated before, it's all about what is comfortable for you - it's not about what google tells you.
