Bike camera with decent battery life?????

Don't forget the too cycling front camera.

It's utter madness to have a £300 light with a 50p bracket as the fly12 CE and I believe the Fly 12 sport does. This imo must have cost cyliq so many sales.

Be interested to see the response of cyliq now the too cycling camera provides direct competetion

@Darius_Jedburgh Snap! I've just unboxed my Cycliq 12 sport, so you're a day or so ahead of me.

I also found that it wouldn't connect to my PC, so following your lead I went and got a Garmin supplied one and it worked fine. Nothing to report yet apart from getting it set up with the PC and phone. I haven't even tried to attach it to my bike yet. ... 🎵there may be trouble ahead🎵 ...

I like my Fly12 CE but for the last year or so it no longer connects to my iPhone so I can't change the options, and the timestamp is out of sync. Cycliq website says it is no longer supported

Is there a config.txt file in the root?

If so, try this:

1. Open the config.txt file
2. Change “TIME=0” to “TIME=1”

(Your current timestamp will be in this format: TIME=0:SEP-24-2015 12:56:00)

3. Modify the date and time as per the example (in config.
txt) exactly as it appears, with the correct dtae/time in 24 Hr format.
4. Save the config.txt file and safely eject your memory card/
Fly12
5. Power on your Fly12 briefly, for this change to take effect

Lucky you. They are now out of stock. You must have one of the last of that batch.

That's good news about the cable, in a roundabout sort of way. I proves that I'm not the idiot.

One other problem has come to light.
There is incident protection on the unit. Allegedly if the bike is tilted to 60 degrees for 5 seconds that file is locked to prevent overwriting.
Only one problem.....it doesn't work. I've lain my bike horizontal for over 2 minutes and nothing happens. More than once. Could be me; more investigation is needed.

I'll test mine ... when I get around to mounting it on the bike.

Don't think there is, there's a config.html which (from memory) was just a page with a link for downloading the app.
Will have another look in case there was a hidden file. I recall way back there was a browser app for configuring it over USB.

It’s easier to test it off the bike!

I start mine up and then, after ten seconds or so, rotate it 90 degrees for ten seconds and check the file protection. It has always worked on my Fly12 (original model).
I just tried that. It didn't work.
What am I doing wrong?
This is what they say...

I'm probably being thick but I don't understand the first paragraph. The unit is horizontal on the bike so what position is 60 degrees from vertical?

Incident mode can be switched off. Here's a screenshot from the phone app for mine. Is yours on?

There is. Either for Windows or Apple.
https:/cycliq.com/software/
finds it here.

Thanks Darius, downloaded the windows app and it works a treat.

I'm 100% sure the last time I looked years ago the "app" was just a browser page. Don't know how it worked in terms of talking the the camera, I'd guess ether running some java applet (or even activex control) to access the USB on the local device, or the device driver itself would expose an API on a localhost port.

I think I stopped using the phone app because the bluetooth connection used to keep waking the camera up and shutting it down randomly.

I'd not looked since to see the full windows app, so cheers. I've synced the times and amended settings so job done. No need for a phone app now.

@Dogtrousers .....I think I've sorted the cable problem.
The supplied cable is a power only cable. It does not carry data.
Just another cheapskate trick...they are obliged to supply power cables but not data cables. But we have to plug it in to use it so we have to supply our own data cables. saves them a few pence on each unit. £££££ is king.
As I said earlier I don't get good vibes about their customer service.
