Pink Floyd and The Corrs??? A-ha-ha haaaaa... obviously I'm more on FM's wavelength, on live performance I could mention Jane's Addiction, who were just blindingly good even though I thought their music was mediocre at best for a bunch of indulgent LA junkies.
Errr, Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan was just superior in every sense, but so was James Taylor the one time I saw him perform. Weird, innit?
On recordings, The Clash, Doors, an Irish bunch named Whipping Boy (their album in about 1993 was scary good), Sam Cooke (not really a band, per se), Led Zeppelin (in a class of their own, really), Nina Hagen band, Midnight Oil (patchy and preachy but pure genius), Sloan (3 minute pop music perfection), and Smithereens ('Behind The Wall Of Sleep' = 2'30 pop perfection)...........
