I went out this morning without my helmet (in the rain) and tangled with a BMW too, oh and some Fords, Vauxhalls, Mercedes, Mini's and every other car you can mention, along with buses, taxis, motorcyclists, vans, HGV's and other cyclists.. and guess what? I survived also.

Be careful folks, it's a jungle out there.
I have a confession to make...I went out without my helmet...Tangled with a BMW and survived.

Conducting a program of controlled experiments to replicate genuine accidents on cyclists with and without helmets might be seen by some as unethical.

Oh, I wasn't expecting a statistical analysis. Just a reasoned, theoretical one would be interesting - but I've never seen one.

It's an excellent place to put extra lights in the winter.
Ha I,ll second that

What do helmet manufacturers advise with the placing of lights, cameras etc on Helmets.
Surely they can/will add to any sort of rotational injury if you do happen to land on your bonce?

If I landed on my nut wits the light on it would fly off as its only held on by a clip, and as for summing up this discussion... I'll keep wearing mine thanks, even if it means not been scalped by the tarmac its done its job, can't ye set up a quick poll as to who would and who wouldn't wear one and get it over and done with ... :-)
