I'll probably get grief for this but I think beer choices amongst some cyclists are often elitist and way too try hard bit like clothing which has to be a named brand or you are looked down on. Some like to say their favourite tipple is some obscure Belgian micro brewery as it's the done thing.
Now I'm sure for some it is but I do get impression that some try very hard to be in the "in crowd".

Personally i'll quite happily drink a pint of Peroni.
Not in this cycling & drinking household. Quite happy with one of the Aldi/Lidl Rheinbacher/Perlenbacher cheapo lagers or their own brand IPAs as well as mainstream lager brands for home drinking, along with any draught IPAs or similar I fancy when out and about.

Newcastle Brown for me in a propper bottle too. Away the lads 🍺

Totally avoid tinned beer, reluctantly drink bottle brands ,except for a select few, like bottled conditioned beers, but some I do seek out,' Aldi's Coffee stout is one ,and Guinness West Indian Export stout another, a whole slew of German style Wheat beers....but mainstream brewers beers , i don't touch.
Picky ,yes I am.
But Perry & Ciders , another matter.

Oh come on, 'Disco fizz ':is widely sold in the UK,, even the high end brands like Stella, are in that category,
I don't touch it, the only lagers I'd drink are German or Czech, true proper Lagers, a world of difference between them and 'Disco' .
I've never heard it called that, but very apt.
But I am ignorant about wine,I'm afraid , my preference is a hearty Red over white.
So I have a whole new world of alcohol pops to explore ,I'm a man of the grain , over the grape.

Haha if Stella is a premium then I'm finished
Fizzy disco fizz is a big no no but lots of great als beers and stouts to keep me going and yes there is a lot of German beers that are lovely like the weatbiers and a few others but not from a draugh in a pint sized disco fizz glass
Not a wine fan myself especially the hangover

Had a nice brown ale at our 'spoons last week called Bess. Can't remember what brewery it was. Newkie Brown is too sweet for me.
Very decent brewery, Thornbridge. I Still can't bring myself to enter a Wetherspoons though.

A couple from yesterday...
London Black nitro porter from Anspach & Hobday and Orval
If I remember correctly, Bayreuther Hell - a Helles lager from Bayreuther, a De Ranke Noir de Dottignies and a Westmalle Tripel may also have been involved.

What do you make of A&H's London Black? I like it, nice and malty, but I think it's almost a dark mild rather than a porter.

I like it a lot, but I'm a Guinness drinker, which is it's clearest comparison imo. It's a little deeper and richer than the Guinness, which makes it slightly less sessionable. I think we're maybe a bit used to porters being Baltic or Imperial and high %age (everything got turned up to 11 at some point, didn't it?), where London porters would never have been that sort of strength. I've never really got on with mild tbh, not sure why, so I don't have a huge comparison databank in my head for it (also, we don't really get cask ales here in Copenhagen)

Ah , Copenhagen, not a place to go drinking, for those who can get access to Cask ales , there are considerably better beers than 'G', even Guinness bottle a far superior product than the nitro keg, Guinness West Indian Export, if you can find it you may change your preference.
