Hence the reason I moved from the Wolverhampton area  I'd have given it back twice as hard. What a complete w*nker. Glad you're relatively OK mate, and I hope it all goes your way.

May I just say that this is the only forum on which I have posted where there have been no ignorant and unjustified digs at the Police, for that I thank you.
I very rarely "offer up" what I do for my salary, when you have done over a quarter of a century (thats sounds dreadful!!) you appreciate its rarely worth it.
I do know that there are many occasions where this country's Police Service deserves a slagging and I cringe myself when I read what colleagues/the service has done.
This, however, no doubt applies to many Public Services. The Police Service at this time in history is probably at its lowest as far as public confidence is concerned, some of it justified, some of it not. I do my best at all times, try to assist where I can, but know when to keep my gob shut.
Sorry to sideline the post but felt I should just say you seem like a level headed, sensible bunch.....but then you all would be....your cyclists!!
Chapeau! (To quote the old duffer himself, David Duffield).

I fail to why he isn't being prosecuted. Apart from the very obvious assault could you not add , threatening behaviour and dangerous driving.
I understand that there needs to be some kind of filter and it's reasonable to caution for trivial stuff.
What if you had been say a middle aged lady on a bike receiving the same treatment ? A pound to a penny he would have been up before the beak. Stopping and opening the door to have you crash. If you do that by mistake it's careless driving. Deliberately makes it dangerous.

Prosecute the slob privately. I would.

That was a lot worse than you described. My heart is racing now after just watching it.

I think that is one of the most extreme cases/videos I have seen on YT in relation to road rage type things. I cant even imagine how annoyed I would be if the police did the same if I was involved in it.
It is disgusting that the police have not prosecuted him for common assault at least. I would have wanted more than a caution and put my foot down to get it.

You need to remember that the police is a service, and as a service they give you advice. They advised you of either an informal warning or a formal warning. However, if you want it to go to court, then it will. If that did go to court, I can only see you winning the case. The driver had no grounds of comparison.

With someone like that, there should only be one punishment - Jail. How does the police feel it acceptable to just caution him? What is there to caution? He hasnt made any threats or verbal abuse. He is simply a threat to public safety.

In all seriousness BCS, you need to put your foot down and contact the police. That is not acceptable.

I think the video footage is enough revenge.
If we all take the piss out of him looking like a overgrown cub scout who spat his dummy out then he might think twice about doing it again .

Nothing justifies threats and physical abuse or violence but the cyclist also needs to learn some patience - there was no need for his reaction to his path being blocked ahead when he reached the back of the queue of cars coupled with the car simply reverse parking - he should have calmly waited instead of all his muttering and head shaking.
