Better get some training for this soon, think 49 is my longest cycle this year

A possibility, but waiting to see if any other plodders sign up; so far it seems to be the young racing snakes ;).
Actually June is the month I am hoping to take as extended holiday and go touring. Maybe France, but closer to home if the rain promises to stay away.
Curious about this. Fairly new to cycling. Have new Cube road bike and might well be interested but not sure how I'd match the rest of you guys. I'm a fit 60 year old but up for a challenge ... maybe. Any other old farts out there?
PS Spent my 60th on Arran with a couple of MTB routes with a pal.

I'm afraid this particular old fart is having to give this ride a miss , as I will be away trying to find my way from Bordeaux to Caen on my bike . If I was you, just go for it. They are a great bunch to ride with, and as I'm sure has been stated somewhere on the thread, there are only 3 rules.... 1. Anyone with a bike is welcome. 2. No-one gets left behind. 3. There will be cake!
