The USADA ban doesn't mean the guy has to curl up and die. He's a natural competitor, enjoys to take part and win, what else would you have him do?
If it were anyone else, I might feel sorry for him at being reduced to such things but, nah, that's what punishment means. He deserves it. But even I don't expect him to denied everything.
Drop out of sight. Head down and be forgotten. Enjoy what money he has left. Keep away from sport, specifically one we all love, which he has degraded not just by his chemical antics, but with the constant lies and intimidations of other people. Plenty of people are natural competitors, some good, some not so good, but tried to succeed the right way, and I don't want him or quite a few of the others who have been caught more than once back in the sport, as riders or in management. I have some sympathy (not much) for those who have made mistakes, paid the price, and have come back clean, but not for all of them. Especially those who write books, etc., and make more money from their "confessions".
They can all disappear into a corner and stay there.
Rather an old has-been who can look the world in the eye and sleep at night, than have "achieved" more with the aid of illegal substances. How can your kids ever respect you when you tell them they should do things the honest way, otherwise?
