I was disappointed when I heard that he was actually allowed to swim in a world masters swimming event in the first place. hence my post earlier about shame on the event.
More than pleased to now see that he was banned because the event is after all under FINA rules who do follow WADA rules.
What we should know from what has happened in cycling is that cheats will try to cheat at every level - why else would we have had amateurs, amateurs for gods sake, cheating with drugs in cycling.
Whether he is a natural competitor or not, his ban should stand as its the punishment he has received for his actions.
Maybe we should allow murderers to be allowed out of prison for odd days provided they agree to only do a little bit of burglary or GBH.
He should just retire from public life.
