Not sure tbh if I am looking for N+1. I might keep my current bike so if I do I am and if I don't I'm not.

Whatever, I am treating myself to a new bike.

Currently down to three: Cube Attain SL Disc / Cannondale Synapse Adventure / Whyte Suffolk 105 Disc.

If I was going to n+1, I'd love to do a fixed gear conversion on a nice old ten speed peugeot. Then I think I would have (gasp) all the bikes I'll ever want - a tourer/commuter, a (vintage) racer, a dutch style cruiser, MTB, and a fixie. Though recumbant bikes also look quite fun....

But unfortunately it's not going to happen while I'm living in Devon - tried a SS set-up on the last ten speed I did up (52/20, 27" wheels) and didn't enjoy the hills at all!

Not to sure?
Cannot make my mind up between either a Reynolds 953 or a Ti frame to build up for an audax and generally a longer lasting bike?

I never thought I would fall into the trap of n+1, I have even managed to resist this for 40 years, but recently, i managed to persuade my partner, that I needed to start commuting, so that she would feel less under pressure when we take to the fields and trcks to gently jaunt the normal 16 mile weekend 'fair-weather only' cycle to which she has become accustomed, as have I!
So a 2013 BeOne Mistral has arrived today, following an amaingly exihlarating 7 mile ride from the vendor's property, my first time riding Ultegra 20 speed 50/34, and I have to say, my 14 mile commute looks to be a wonderful start to me working day, which I originally thought may be once-a-week, but will most likely become MUCH more regular!
I hav to say that for me, purchasing an oldish bike, albeit discontinued, feels wonderful, because of the high spec. my lalst roadie was a Carrera Virtuoso, which allowed me to do the L2B in under 4 hours, which was my target, some 10 years ago, and I think that I could possibly match that, with this BeOne... (Now there's a challenge!)
I have oft' believed that one should live for the moment, to some extent, and I am loving the n+1 now, but this will definitely be me settled for some time now.... until Di2 becomes available 'cheap'!

Being practical it should fold small to fit on the boat so thinking a Brompton...and a buddy rider for Bonnie won't be towing the trailer so could travel by train. Saw a Brompton fitted with a buddy rider on youtube so know it'll fit

I am your Father
I have an aluminium road bike, I have a carbon road bike, what I don't have is a vintage steel road bike or a titanium road bike & no MTB either ...

So all of those I suppose.

However, I am almost certain it would end in D.I.V.O.R.C.E

I would very much like
One of Spokesman's lovely Carlton bikes
A posh Carbon Liv road bike, just to see what it's like and because they are so pretty
A CX or mountain bike, good excuse for getting muddy
A fat bike because they're a bit mad looking but magic fun to ride :hyper:
However, Mr M would have none of it  so I'll just stick with what I got.
