Talking of Ti.... I'm looking at the Genesis Croix De Fer for commuting and touring duties

Just waited 3 months for one of those forks! Hope if there are ti bikes in stock the fork is too!

I'd love a Van Nicholas, keep going on their site and "building" a bike then closing it as I can't justify spending that much on a bike.

Planet X do have a TI Road with Ultegra (used unfortunately) in the clearance section for £1800 if you fit a large size

Alternatively, keep an eye on the clearance section of the Van Nicholas web site. At the end of last year they sold off old stock Ventus SEs with SRAM Apex (before they switched them over to Shimano 105) and with an advantageous exchange rate I picked one up for commuting purposes for £1050 delivered.

or something completely different?

What's your n+1 going to be?

While leaving the gym today, it occurred to me that I would probably use an indoor spin bike more than a track bike, time trial bike, MTB, etc. I've ridden on these http://mseries.keiser.com/m3.html at a spin class and like them a lot. Can find older ones without the watts and HR computer for $300-$400 that run smoothly.

Why? No worries about the weather/traffic. Easier to ride when injured or ill. Won't be sweating full force over my good bike on a trainer or rollers.

However, would it possibly be as good alone compared to a spin class with women to chat with while they play music with mirrors covering the walls?

Ive got the go ahead for a bike but I'm not sure which one,,,, he thinks I should upgrade my commuter, and turn the existing one into a spare for the mornings when you suddenly realise that you have a mechanical and no time before work to fix it. Whilst I like that idea, I've not seen anything to catch my eye, and my friends would rather I bought a mountain bike to go out with them. Im not sure I go often enough to justify a mountain bike, and I'm not sure I've got the OK for that:wacko:

I'm also very good at dithering..... I wish I had the mindset of those who made their minds up more easily.

Once I've shifted a Giant TCX I shall be after an MTB (maybe second hand, maybe new haven't decided) for tottering around with the family and the odd off road excursion around a local trail
