I have, you should give it a go.![]()
Women you don't know? You're a braver man than me.
BTW I also often hold the door open for men. I'm equal opportunities polite.

Really? I’m happy to have chats with young ladies (or, indeed, older ones) on various topics. They are usually happy to talk to me, but I’m not sure if it is a compliment or not :-)
Had occasion to compliment a lady on her outfit just the other day, she was proper made up. We had a little nit-nat on the topic of fashion and work and went our separate ways.
I only speak to people who are appropriately dressed. Some people don't even wear ties nowadays.
Oh, don't start me on politicians who remove their ties in pursuit of the "everyman" look. Scruffy sods. Even worse, some are seen with their hands in their suit trouser pockets! Mark my words, they'll be wearing brown shoes next.
I've never noticed any difference in the response of men or women, TBH. Though I don't think I see as many solo female cyclists as male.
or is it just trying to make the world a better place.![]()
Really, that surprises me.
I find i get more, uninitiated, recognition from female cyclists than males. It's either because I'm HAF or they've recognised me from Crimewatch.
I'm too old to dislike anyone for what they wear or don't wear. I just ride my bike and smile as i do.
I ride a 105 groupset bike wearing whatever I feel like wearing.
I know people who wear lycra, some of them are sound and some are not. Much like people in general.
