Tom Jones though. Never understood what anyone sees in his dreadful braying.

I like to make a distinction between singers who are not to my taste, and singers who are just not very good. Kate Bush, Meatloaf, Tom Jones, Kylee etc are all distinctive voices with a certain quality which you are free to not like, but they are accomplished performers.

Yes, the thread is about singers we personally dislike the voice of. Quite a few who have been mentioned here are ones I do like, but it is all about personal taste.

couldn't agree more - some of these singers sound like they are screaming while using a balance board . I hate to show my age but Barbara Streisand ! when she picked a note she stuck to it ! she didnt just try to do every note in the hope that one of them sounds right

Barbra Streisand is one of the greatest female voices ever. One may not like her music, but her voice (as an instrument) is phenomenal.

Heard/saw a video of her singing with her band just for fun once - just a small club I think or something like that

Amazingly good - far far better than the recorded stuff

apparently they were all staying ina hotel at one point and last one night they asked the pianist of they could play something on the piano and just took over
Only the staff and a couple of guest were there but it was incredible and they carried on for hours - no publicity, no cameras - just doing what they did
