Aha, trick question.

You should be on QI.

Nylon ? A POLYMER :smile::biggrin::biggrin:

"Plastic" is a description of a material that is flexible and stays in its new position, as in "plastic deformation".

Plastic - the name for a synthetic polymer, is an urban myth.:becool:

Remember who first did it by association. Wallace Carothers and Grommit Du pont.

Isn't that just using plastic as a description of how a material behaves? A bit like saying that something is quite 'elastic'.

Thermoplastics are an actual product group though, and nylon is one.

Oi quit it!!!

Do you want some of these bolts or not? I am finding it hard to justify buying a bag of 100 (min qty) when I need maybe 1/5 of that.

I am offering you salvation from the burden of unnecessarily heavy bottle bolts and instead you go off waffling bout plastic/elastic/nylon.

oh, if anyone knows where I can buy the same sized bolts in black nylon for same price, that would be better but then it is function before form so colour is not that important.

I should point out that bottle cage bolts are M5, not M4. Don't get the wrong size.
I think the confusion arises because M5 caphead screws take a 4mm allen key

I quick sand and a lick of paint and they're black, not hard to do. Also, if you 'really' must keep the weight down you could cut the bolt in half, don't need all that thread do you? ;0)

I'll take a few off you if you like but I think that if you buy a bag of 100 you're going to be stuck with most of them.

Incidentally, anyone else up for cost sharing on bulk buys of other stuff - esp. if I can get at trade?

Be careful. I've seen this idea go belly up before. Dozens of people say 'oh yeah, I'll take one' but when you ask for the money all goes silent. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying be careful.

M4 or M5? That's thrpwn a spanner into the works - I thik you are right but they are definitely M4 on specialized;guess I need to check up then or get 2 sizes.

I have since found on web companay that sell black nylon and in smaller quantities so may not need to punt off the excess.

As usually is the case, the postage would be unnecessariy large (usaully £ 3 +) and if folks are still interested, then all it would cost them is an SAE.

Watch this space ......

Is this serious? Would 10 minutes on the bog followed by a quick one off the wrist, and gob up some greenies not have 20 or even 200 times the effect?
