As a beginner/novice is it worth going?

Will I be able to pick up a bargain or is full of stuff that is either too expensive or only for the elite?

Thanks.

I m going too on Sat, mainly to have a look at Cube's new range but was wondering the same as you...

Also wondering this. I'm currently actively looking for a road bike around the £600 mark, but are the prices at the show going to match numerous deals available on the internet ?

I assume the vendors will be prepared to haggle, depends if it's the same kit as online. What brands are you interested in specifically, depends if they are actually exhibiting I assume!

I dont expect to see any discounts straight after being released tbh, however my LBS promiesed a discount as a loyal customer, only still undecided on Streamer Or Peleton Race, seen as Streamer 2011 RRP £999 (then I'll get it with a discount) P Race £1269 RRP / £999 + discount = newer bike going to cost less  but although really like the blue black, still want to see the P Race in person! Decisions Decisions!

Specialised Secteur or Giant Defy, but don't particularly want the latest models because the spec keeps going down and prices up, so best bet is to probably keep trawling around the internet, and get a 2010 or 2011 model.

Might go to the show anyway just to look.

There will be no prices at the show since they don't sell bikes at the show. They've only in recent years allowed the selling of clothing and accessories.

Went last few years & alawys had a great day out, was sad to see it moved venues, but figured could combine a weekend visit to my folks with a trip to the show.
But aslo promised #3 I would take him on his first sportive & he's picked the NF100 which is the same weekend - Kids come first!

I'd like to go. The nearest I can get by coach to the NEC frm Stansted Airport is Birmingham Airport. On the map it doesn't look a long walk from Birmingham Airport to the NEC. Is anyone local who can confirm or deny this. It is also possible that there are local buses from the airport to the NEC.

BY AIR
From Birmingham International Airport it is an easy walk to the NEC. Follow the signs to the Air-Rail Link. It leaves from the airport, first floor of terminal one. Exit the Air-Rail Link at the Birmingham International Station then continue to walk onto the bridgelink covered walkway.

The Air-Rail Link operates from 0515 to 0200 every 2 minutes. Travel time is about 90 seconds.
