I've learned a new Welsh word: 'lluq'.

I think it means 'push' - I saw it on a glass door.

Not a joke as such, but a true story. I worked with a guy from England called Allan. He said that he never felt welcome at Welsh branches of Tesco. All over the car park road surface, someone had painted ALLAN - OUT.

It's a bit like the baffled visitor trying to find "llwybr cyhoeddus" on his map

I wasn’t allowed to say anything until today, but it's now okay for me to share that I have volunteered for the Covid-19 vaccine trials that Imperial College are running in partnership with Oxford University. It's important that we all do our part to beat this virus. The vaccine is the one that has been developed in Russia. I received my first dose this morning 06:20 am, and I wanted to let you all know that it’s completely safe, with иo side effects whatsoeveя, and that I feelshκι я чувю себя немного стрно и я думю, что вытл осные уши. чувству себя немго страо.....

Reminds me of the time I was driving through Hamburg and kept trying to find 'Elbebrucken' on the map.

The best one was the story of the bilingual sign, where the Welsh half said something like "we are out of the office at the moment, we will deal with your query on Monday". The sign printers had taken the automatic out of office notice as the translation

Yes, and it was totally genuine. The BBC even covered it! I suspect it was some automated response from Meicrosofft Swyddfa, or some such.
