In the 90s when mobile phones first started appearing a milkman on my manor at work got himself one.

Every night he'd ring in reporting all sorts of dodginess. Good stuff too. We caught burglars, car thieves, all sorts of general scumbaggery thanks to him.

Sadly milkmen are no more and villains are free to operate with impunity.

Fred resurrection alert.
I've had a 1500 word article accepted by an historic transport magazine. i combined the anecdotes with a drive of a Smiths Cabac float in Ambergate, Derbyshire and the history of a rare 5 wheeled float in the west mids. Thanks to everyone who posted their stories. the stories I'm using have been notified/asked what they want to be credited as. Sorry if I didn't include yours if you posted.... I could've wrote a short book!!!
